Company Description
NCMEC was established in 1984 as a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization to provide services nationwide for families and professionals in the prevention of abducted, endangered and sexually exploited children. In December of 1999, the President signed into law what has been described as the “mandatory ISP reporting law” as set forth in Title 42 U.S.C.13032 (b). Federal law now requires all electronic communication services and remote computing services to report any apparent child pornography to the CyberTipline at the NCMEC. Violation of said law may result in a fine of not more than $50,000 for an initial failure to report.
